New 2021 Workshop Dates :
June 26,27 July 24,25 August 7,8 September 11,12
Make new friends or bring your own! This is a great mother-daughter activity or other family members too. Class sizes are limited to no more than 5 students, so sign up early!
Workshops will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., or if needed, you may stay until you finish that day’s work. On Sunday, you will go home with a finished piece of jewelry that you have designed and constructed yourself! And we have a lot of fun. I provide all tools needed.
Please join me for a fun and creative experience. You can reserve a space by contacting me at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone 805-543-9447. I do require a non-refundable deposit of $60.
Hope to see you soon!
Day 1: Design and construct your piece. Pieces will need time to dry and sand. I will fire that evening or early the next morning. Then I will tumble them to polish so that when you arrive on Sunday, we can patina and finish by putting them together. By the end of workshop on Sunday, you should have an original piece of jewelry that you have designed! Please bring a lunch! I will have drinks and snacks.
Day 2: After you have created the silver portion of the course, I will assist you with assembling. You may purchase findings and other components necessary for completion such as ear wires, wire for wrapping, chain, clasps, jump rings, pearls and stone beads. The prices are based on materials’ cost, but you are welcome to bring your own. I would urge you to use sterling silver findings rather than plate.
The cost of the workshop is $160. In addition to my tutoring, the following materials are included:
- 12 grams of fine silver clay (99.9% pure silver)
- Silicone for making your own molds
- Sanding and finishing materials
- Basic tool kits to use while you are here (if you want to purchase one, they will be available for a nominal fee.)
- Firing and polishing of your piece
- Optional patina with Liver of sulfur
- putting together earrings and necklaces, stringing, attaching chains and clasps, etc.
You may purchase stones to set in before firing or after firing. In addition, you will be able to use other tools and devices in my studio that you may need to create and finish your design.
